Makenzie's Day of Fame

This week we got a call from our church asking if they could use Makenzie in our Patriotic Musical today. She was a part of a song about heros. She was carried in by a nursery worker (the hero). She did really good for the whole song and just sat and looked around. I was very impressed. Here's a few pictures.

Then a few of her at bedtime. She is a very nosy child. I'll lay her in bed and she'll crane her neck as much as she can to see out of her crib.

Then yesterday Rylee did her swimming lessons. Unfortunately I forgot my camera for that. It wasn't really anything big anyways. Just moms and dads trying to show their kids how to kick in the water with a few lifeguards wondering around to answer questions and such. But at least it was free time to play at the pool! We plan on going back this week so I'll have to take pictures then.

Last night Rylee went to a birthday party. Marleigh has so much cool stuff to play with. Rylee was really timid at first but then really got to love the pools. I think we might try to go out and get her a similar one this week too!

The sprinkler and blow up pool

A couple weeks ago I bought an octopus sprinkler where water squirts out of its legs. We thought we would try it out tonight. Rylee liked it when I was holding her and running through it...but wouldn't do it by herself. So I blew up her pool and let her play in that! She loves playing in there. And this weekend she's gonna go to her first swimming lessons! And get to play in a pool!

Here are the pictures...

Daddy Daughter Date Night

Tonight Dave took Rylee out on her first date. We saw that our Chick-fil-a was hosting a Daddy Daughter Date night and a horse and carriage ride and Dave took Rylee. It sounds like they had a great time too! Here's some pictures

And then our neighbors have been really good to us and watched our cats while we were on vacation and donated PTO to me when I was out with Rylee and her leg so we wanted to do something in return. Rylee decorated flower pots and helped me plant flowers in them to give to them. They turned out really cute.

The pool

Rylee is loving playing in her little pool at my mom's house. And since it has been so hot, it's a much needed break! Here is Rylee playing in it.

That's all for today...tomorrow I'll post some my mom took of Rylee in her pool here at home. And one funny story from today..I told Rylee yesterday that I needed a favor and asked her to get me a diaper for Makenzie. Then twice today she said, "Hey Mom. I need a favorite." I love her at this age!

Beach part 1

When I last blogged, Rylee still had her cast on. We got it taken off on Wed. June 2nd. That was an adventure all by itself. She didn't like them cutting it off and was very scared at first to even move. They told us she would be very stiff for a while (they said for as long as it took her to get used to the cast..it would take her that long to readjust). She at first even had a hard time sitting. She is now getting better at walking some but mostly crawls because she can get around so much faster.

In the mean time, we went on our yearly vacation. My sister's in laws have a place that they so graciously let us stay at each year. It was still a fun trip even though Rylee wasn't getting around completely normal. Makenzie did really well there and officially started sleeping through the night there. Also a couple days before we went down she figured out that she could get her hands to her mouth so if she is wearing anything with a little stretch, she grabs a hold and pulls it up to her mouth. She has also gotten very good at holding her head up with tummy time and in her bumbo.

Here are some of the pictures from the beach trip. I'm splitting them up into different posts since I have so many of them.
