Treasure Hunting

We love going to yard sales at our house!  The kids actually love it almost as much as my mom and I do.  They love looking for the signs and looking to see if the ones we find will be good ones.  Last weekend was a really good yard sale weekend.  We found one ( that was actually in my neighborhood) that had lots of good things!  We got a new car seat for Rylee since she is needing to move up to the next step one, some dolls, a puzzle, clothes, DVD's, and a couple of toys for the girls to play with the babies and all for just $23!  We were pretty impressed since the car seat itself could run you about $50-60 brand new.  This car seat was a grandma's that was barely used too! Here are some pictures...

PS.  Sarah I love how you do this and needed to copy!

Pool update

Both girls are getting so much better at being independent at the pool.  Rylee also took the notion this week to just start going underwater.  I think she's just seen everyone else do it and finally caught on.  They also had a really great time playing with my cousin's little boy Barrett.  Here are a few videos and pictures...

Best Friends

Alot of the time the girls get along so great.  They really act like best friends.  Rylee is really getting into "mothering" Makenzie.  Any time Makenzie is sad or crying Rylee will get her to come sit with her or play with her.  They really are cute together.  Here they are at breakfast the other morning.

Both girls really like to read.  A lot of times I will find them in their rooms reading to each other or themselves.  I caught Makenzie reading this morning to herself.  Here she is...

Oak Island Day 7

This is our last day at the beach.  We decided to start the morning off by going and walking on the pier.  The girls neither one remembered doing it last year so we thought they would enjoy seeing all the men fishing.  I think the men enjoyed showing them all the fish just about as much as they enjoyed see them!  Then Uncle Daniel and Aunt Jessie wanted to get the girls kites to fly so we tried that out and played in the ocean one last time.  Here are some pictures...

Thank you Miss Carol and Mr Blair for allowing us to stay at your place and Aunt Jessie, Uncle Daniel (or Aunt Daniel), Nana and Pa for a great time at the beach!

Oak Island Day 6

Today Rylee, Dave and I attempted to go on the beach. Makenzie decided she wanted to stay inside. Rylee's favorite thing to do is to dig for "her friends" which are little clams that open into angel wings wings when the animal leaves. They bury in the sand when the waves came and go and she loved digging for them and looking for the open ones on walks on the beach too. We had to come back in not too long after being out due to some cold rain. Then later in the afternoon we took our "infamous" group pictures. Here they are... Oak Island Day 5

Another fun filled day at the beach.  We started out with a trip to a new doughnut shop for breakfast courtesy of Aunt Jessie and Uncle Daniel.  Then played on the beach for a while.  Then Granny came and played with the girls which the adults went out to dinner!  It was such a nice day!  Here are a few pictures...
