Oak Island Day 2

We started the morning off with a bike ride.  My grandmother's friend bought the girls a ride in trailer this year which they have loved!  They ask every day to go on a bike ride and have been so sweet to each other while riding.  Then we hit up the beach after our bike ride.  Here are our pictures...

Then lastly that evening we took my mom and sister and brother in law's dogs for a walk on the beach.  My camera fogged up for the majority of the walk so I missed most of the good pictures but here are a few...

Oak Island Day 1

Just in case you were wondering, we are on vacation this week.  Hence the extra time to update the blog this week.  We made it to Oak Island on Saturday after many questions and echoes of "When will we be there?" and "How much longer?" by the girls.  After arriving we all needed to unpack and then naps.  When we got up we hit up the beach.  Uncle Daniel (or Aunt Daniel as Makenzie calls him) took went with me to take them.  The girls took just a minute to realize how much they loved it!  Here are some pictures...

Splash Pad

My college roommate Sarah told us about this splash pad that she and her son, Tyler have been going to play at recently.  On July 4th since I was off work, my mom and I met them there to play.  The girls really had a lot of fun!  There was a splash pad and a little train that we could ride around the park on.  Every time the train would ride by the girls would run to the fence to wave to it!  It was really cute!  Thanks Sarah for inviting us!  Here are some pictures...

VBS

Vacation Bible School at our church was a couple of weeks ago.  My mom volunteered in Makenzie's class this year since Makenzie wasn't truly old enough to attend the true bible school but could go if my mom was working.  This year was an aviation theme and the girls made a lot of really cute airplanes and such out of all kinds of everyday items.  They both had a really good time.  Also one day after VBS, my cousin and her little girl Ashley Glen were in town so the girls and my mom went and had lunch with them and played at my Granny's for a little while.  Here are some pictures...

Pools

This summer we've had some great fun at a couple of pools.  First was at one of Rylee and Makenzie's friend's birthday party.  Marleigh had an awesome blow up pool and slide that the girls had a great time playing on.  Here are a few pictures from that...











Then we decided to join a pool this summer.  The girls have had a blast going there.  They have really broken out of their shells too.  They've gone from being scared of the water to dipping their heads under!  Here are a few videos and pictures from the pool...

Makenzie didn't want to cooperate for a picture this morning so this was the best I could get of the girls in their July 4th dresses for church.

Big girl bed

Makenzie started climbing out of her crib so we decided it was time that she moved into her big girl bed.  Our neighbors gave us a toddler bed a while back that's been at my mom's waiting for the right time and Makenzie knew about it.  She was very excited on the first night.  She did very well too.  Just getting up twice the first night!  We're still working on keeping her in there all night but so far so good!  Here's a few pictures...
